When working with Power BI datasets I often want to refresh multiple tables, BUT not all the tables in my model. (This often happens when I made a change to underlying data sources and I want to make sure it is working as expected in Power BI Desktop)

I recently found that I could do it by doing the following steps below.

  • The first thing I did was I sent into the Model view
  • In my example I wanted to refresh only the following tables
    • Date
    • Employee
    • Period
    • Stock Item
  • I selected the multiple tables by holding down the CTRL button and selecting the tables
  • I then right clicked and selected Refresh data
  • It then went and ONLY refreshed the tables I selected
  • I could then see my selected tables had been refreshed.

Summary

In this short and sweet blog post I show you how I could refresh selected tables in Power BI Desktop.
